Dr. Shanthikumar is professor of industrial engineering and operations research at the University of California, Berkeley. He has authored or coauthored more than 250 papers and has coauthored three books, “Stochastic Models Of Manufacturing Systems,” “Stochastic Orders And Their Applications” and “Stochastic Orders.” He is a co-editor of Flexible Services & Manufacturing Journal, and he has served on numerous editorial boards of technical journals. As a consultant for KLA-Tencor Corp., he worked on joint development projects with AMD, IBM, Intel, LSI, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Fujitsu, TSMC and UMC. He received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Sri Lanka and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Toronto.
