Dr. Weinberg is the chief technology officer of Symyx Technologies Inc. He joined Symyx in 1996 as the second employee with the mandate to create the company’s technology. Prior to that, he served on the faculties of the California Institute of Technology and the University of California, Santa Barbara, for more than 24 years. Dr. Weinberg earned a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
