Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Chiang joined the company in May of 2005 and is responsible for the company’s technology strategy and direction. Prior to joining Intermolecular, Dr. Chiang was the founder and president of Angstron Systems Inc., a venture-backed ALD start-up company which was acquired by Novellus Systems Inc. in spring of 2004. Prior to founding Angstron in late 2000, Dr. Chiang worked in technology and program management roles at Applied Materials in developing several generations of advanced ionized and self ionized PVD technologies used in high volume manufacturing. Dr. Chiang received a B.S. degree in materials science and engineering from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from MIT. He holds over 60 granted patents.
